Aurelie Antonio is a Mauritian illustrator and surface pattern designer based in Canada. With a background in fashion and design spanning over a decade, she now works as a freelance artist, creating illustrations, patterns, and handcrafted goods under her creative brand. Her work lives at the intersection of storytelling, culture, and nature, often translated into art for publishing, licensing, and personal projects.
Deeply inspired by the lush, multicultural landscapes of her island upbringing and her travels through Canada’s wild terrain, Aurelie's interest spans from tropical plants, wild animals, folk traditions, and mythologies. These influences are reflected in her palettes and illustration style.
Whether through a flowing pattern or a stand-alone illustration, she aims to create work that evokes emotion and tells subtle, meaningful stories.
She specializes in Illustration, branding, panoramic wallpaper art, surface pattern design, graphic prints, jewelry making and has worked for, and collaborated with various design agencies.
Outside of client work, Aurelie enjoys exploring new creative mediums, from ceramics to mixed media painting; as a way to stay playful and open in her practice.
In all that she makes, she hopes to share beauty, meaning, and a touch of wonder.
